Privacy Policy

RPGCortex ("we", "us") is an early-access interactive fiction platform. This policy explains what data we collect and how it's used. RPGCortex is currently in active development and this policy will be expanded as new features (payments, publishing, social features) ship.

Information we collect

• Account information: when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google to create your account.
• Gameplay data: the adventures you create or play, including your inputs, generated story text, and game-state data (stats, inventory, characters) associated with your account.

How we use your information

We use your information to operate your account, save and resume your adventures, and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Improving our AI

To make RPGCortex's storytelling better, we use what happens in adventures to test and improve our AI. This includes the text you write, the AI's replies, and game details such as dice results and changes to your character's state. We currently focus on moments where a dice roll decides what happens, so we can teach the AI to respect the result.

• Who it applies to: only players aged 18 and over. Multiplayer adventures are included only when everyone at the table is 18 or older and nobody has opted out. We never use adventures from players under 18.
• How it's protected: this material is stored encrypted and is only accessible to people working on the AI. Names and other personal details are removed before anything is used to train a model.
• How long we keep it: material that hasn't been reviewed is deleted after 90 days. Material selected to improve the AI is kept until you opt out or delete your account.
• Legal basis: we rely on our legitimate interest in improving the service. You can object at any time by opting out.
• Opting out: in Settings, choose Don't use my adventures to improve the AI. This takes effect immediately and deletes anything already collected from your adventures. A model that was already trained cannot "unlearn" what it learned, but your material will not be used again.

Third-party services

To generate story content, your gameplay inputs and adventure context are sent to our AI model provider (OpenRouter) to generate responses. We use Google for authentication. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms.

Data retention

We retain your account and adventure data for as long as your account is active. Adventures that go unplayed for an extended period may be deleted to manage storage costs; we will describe the exact retention window here once that policy is finalized.

Your choices

You can delete individual adventures from within the app, delete your account from Settings, and opt out of AI improvement in Settings at any time.
